The Vision of Mercy Trucks Ukraine
Our Vision is to develop the Mercy Trucks Ukraine ministry around the four basic components of Mercy, Evangelism, Training and Multiplication. We will endeavor to make each of these components a part of every outreach.
Mercy
Mercy Ministry is the “hands and feet” of making God known. Mercy Trucks Ukraine provides dental and medical care to those most in need. Caring for orphans, aiding in the recovery and healing of drug addicts, bringing much needed humanitarian aid to villages and declaring the Good News in word and deed, are just some of the ways in which helping hands are extended.
Evangelism
Some creative tools used by our teams to present the Gospel include drama, music, puppets, games and crafts. We want to share our faith effectively in ways that the audience, whether young or old, will understand. In addition, we distribute Bibles and audience specific tracts and Christian literature.
Training
The aim of training and discipleship is to better equip Christians to serve others. Through our outreaches we are able to provide real life training that combines relationship centered evangelism and discipleship with practical service. Through parterships with local ministries we are able to encourage an on-going discipleship of those to whom we have ministered during an outreach.
We also have an opportunity to demonstrate and teach compassionate healthcare to Ukrainian healthcare professionals. Through the actions of our Mercy Team doctors and nurses we demonstrate a “patient first” approach to meeting medical and dental needs. In much of the Eastern Europe, compassion has not been a priority in healthcare.
Multiplication
Mercy Trucks Ukraine will strive to develop and refine our methods and processes. This will allow us to share experiences and components to facilitate the multiplication of the ministry. Additional dental trucks, optical exam/laser surgery trucks, broad and specific examination trucks could be developed, trained and sent throughout Ukraine, Eastern Europe and the world. YWAM has a long history of ministry multiplication throughout the world. Our prayer is to see other similar ministries planted and developed.
